A proper site survey allows for the development of accurate design plans and reduces unnecessary and unplanned expense during the building phase. This will include plotting boundaries, changes of level, any buildings, services, trees or existing features you wish to retain. For smaller projects, I usually offer to survey the garden/area myself, or for larger schemes, I will arrange for an independent surveyor. Additionally, I can use other relevant surveys that may have been undertaken previously, as long as it is up to date, accurate & sufficiently and detailed. Included in the site-survey would be a detailed soil-analysis, the results of which would enable accurate selection of planting materials appropriate for your garden and it’s particular aspect.
